2026 Dues Information and Membership Renewal
2026 OOA/AOA Membership Renewal began this October as members enrolled in Automatic Dues Payments (ADP) begin paying toward 2026 membership. All other members received their 2026 combined AOA and OOA member dues invoices via email on Monday, December 1st with payment due by January 31, 2026.
The American Optometric Association Board approved a dues increase of 3% for 2026. Total AOA dues will be $1,023.00. There will be no OOA dues increase for 2026.
This will be the second year of the Government Affairs & Public Relations Assessment of $300.00 to be collected both in 2025 and in 2026 to off-set expected cost increases for legislative activity and public relations. This assessment is discounted in accordance with Ascending Dues and Partial Practice rates. Invoices automatically include the assessment.
In addition to AOA/OOA dues amounts and the Government Affairs & Public Relations Assessment, invoices include Zone fees ranging from $15 to $45 depending on the Zone. Click here for full 2026 dues information and rates.
OOA members who will retire or plan to alter their work schedule in 2026 should communicate these changes to Associate Executive Director Cori McCabe (cmccabe@ooa.org) to take advantage of possible dues discounts. The aforementioned Member Options & Dues Info page lists all possible membership categories, dues discounts, and the criteria and application for Hardship Waivers.
Automatic Dues Payment (ADP) Plan
This is the ideal time to take advantage of the ADP Plan if you are not already enrolled. ADP allows member ODs to divide their combined AOA/OOA annual membership dues into monthly payments. Rather than paying one lump sum, members can opt to have a manageable amount deducted from their checking account or credit/debit card each month. Members find this plan assists with their monthly budgeting process and requires little to no maintenance from year to year. Additionally, the plan provides a cost-savings for members and allows them to take advantage of credit card reward points and other incentives.
The standard ADP cycle runs October—September. Members who enroll mid cycle will have their total dues divided into the number of remaining months in the standard cycle. For example, a member who enrolls in January will have their current year dues total divided into nine monthly payments (January—September). The next year’s dues will be divided into 12 payments (October—September).
